Nyoman Gunarsa Museum Klungkung Regency

This Museum located in band which is strategic enough, Located beside the street in Banda Village, Takmung about 3 Km west of the Town of Semarapura, Klungkung Regency. The Museum built with a Modern Bali architect.

This Museum have various classic painting of Bali, either from the past, new and also former epoch result of masterpiece from its owner, I Nyoman Gunarsa.

I Nyoman Gunarsa is one of the painter which distinguish for coming from Bali.Most of his masterpiece painting was taken from Bali folklore, and Hindu Dharma legend. Thats make his style of painting different from the other. Its masterpieces taken from artistry of Bali, like folk dance, traditional music, Balinese ceremony, and environmental variety.

Kamasan, Klungkung Traditional Village

Kamasan Traditional Village located about five kilometers south of Semarapura, Klungkung regency, about 50 kilometers from Denpasar. Pass land road, Kamasan can reach during one hour.

With large of area around 187,5 hectare and population about 2.995 people, It's different than other village around it, because most of other village has 2 or 4 time more people than kamasan. As comparison, Gelgel which has the same wide like Kamasan has population around 4.392 people.

Kamasan Village already exist since Gelgel Dynasti in Bali. At the beginning, Kamasan people works as farmers, but since eruption on Mount Agung, most of them change their profession became Wayang painter or gold and silver smiths.
















Wayang Kamasan Painting

The most famous from Kamasan is Traditional Wayang Kamasan painting. The story that mostly paint in Wayang Kamasan painting usually, Mahabaratha and Ramayana story. Now the Wayang Kamasan painting can be seen in either Taman Gili and Kerta Gosa Klungkung

Nusa Penida, Nusa Lembongan, and Nusa Ceningan Tourism Area

Nusa Penida is one of four district in Klungkung Regency, Nusa Penida consist of three island which is Nusa Ceningan, Nusa Lembongan, and Nusa Penida. In Nusa Penida tourism area, there many of interest place that would nice to visit like Wisata Tirta and Marine diving area, with lot of various wonderful coral reef, also many kind of fantastic fish.

Nusa Penida Island
Nusa Penida area is about 202,8 km2. From outside of the island, this island look very desolated, but when you enter this island you will see various beautiful panorama on each side of the island, on the journey to Nusa Dua inside the boat or ship, you will see many fish that jumping on sea surface, also some of birds that hunt the fish. You also able to see many reef on the sea surface shaped like a lot of small island. Near Nusa Penida you also able to see a big reef that called Batu Abah, this reef shaped like a big rock in the sea, in this area there are so many fish, so for tourist that have a fishing hobbies, this place is one of place that should be visited. In batu abah also there are so many of birds, hunt the fish in that area. You will feel like on the show of Discovery Channel if you visit this place. Other side of Nusa Penida you also able to see small island with thousand bats, not an island actually because this place onle a reef. In that island you also can see some of Eagle nest near the top of it.

Nusa Ceningan Island
Nusa Ceningan is an island near Nusa Penida with wide of 306 ha. In Nusa Ceningan sea area, we also able to see so many reef that floated in the sea. From the rumor mentioned that around this area there many of Kuwe Gerong Fish (giant trevally).




Nusa Lembongan Island
Nusa Lembongan has population about 80.000 people, to reach this area is same like reach Nusa Dua or Nusa Ceningan Island, you can reach it from Padangbai (Karangasem Regency), Kusamba (Klungkung Regency), even sanur and Benoa (Denpasar). Even the tourism area are not well developed yet, but the facility are quite complete. Some of facility like hotels, restaurants, souvenir corner, dance and other traditional show, and also marine facility to see lot of beautiful coral and fish in Nusa Lembongan seaside area.

Japanese Cave (Goa Jepang) Klungkung Regency

Goa Jepang located in Banjar Koripan, Banjarangkan Village Klungkung regency. Goa Jepang consist of sixteen cave, built in next side of Tukad Bubuh River. 14 of this cave connect each other, but two of them which is in Northernmost and Southernmost. This is memory of Japanese Colonialist in Bali. Japanese make this cave to protect them self from attack from alliance in 1941. A cave like this also built in Suana Village, Nusa Penida. This cave made to watch the sea traffic in Nusa Penida at that time.

It's easy to reach this place because it's located in side of street that link Denpasar with Semarapura.

Kerta Gosa, Klungkung Regency (Taman Gili Kertagosa)

As an ex-kingdom teritory, Klungkung has a lot of Historical Place that interest to visit, one of them is Kerta Gosa. Kerta Gosa is a building (Bale Kerta Gosa) that made at 1686 by the first king of Klungkung, I Dewa Agung Jambe. Kerta Gosa consist of two major Buildings (Bale), whis is Bale Kerta Gosa and Bale Kambang. Named Kambang (kambang=float), because this building surrounded by a pool whis is Taman Gili.

On the roof we can see many of Kamasan Traditional Painting, Kamasan is one of Village in Klungkung Regency. At the beginning, all of the Painting that surround the building, made from Cotton and parba (Klungkung Traditional Cotton), since 1930 the cotton changed with Etermit, and restorated depend of the original artwork and we able to see it until now. The function of Bale Kambang and Kerta Gosa commonly used for Yadnya Ceremony for all of kingdom family.
Other function is for education, that sees from wayang painting the building, because lot of the painting tells the story about Swargarohana Parwa and Bhisma Parwa that tell us about good and bad activity in our life and also reincarnation because of our activity at our past life. There are six rows of painting in there.
Besides than Kerta Gosa, wayang painting also able to see in Bale Kambang, west of Kerta Gosa building. In this building the painting tell us about Story of Ramayana and Sutasoma. At 1930 held a restoration with all of the painting in Kertagosa, and the final restoration held in 1960.
