Lake Batur

Lake Batur is the widest lake of this island. One lies down in the feet of the Mount Batur and the Mount Abang. Surrounding by the lake is a place preferred for the selections you one same one for above. In the Batur lake you can see the scenic vision and feel the fresh atmosphere. The mountainous region of Bangli is centered around the spectacular volcanic crater (or of the boiler) of Batur. The Mount Batur itself is really right a small volcano, but its adjustment is in the heart of an enormous crater. Adjacent to the volcano it is the lake in medialuna great Batur, surrounded everything by the high walls by the edge of the crater. Whereas the way rises constantly of Bangli or Tampaksiring, nothing in the surrounding gray landscape of shrubs and diagrams of the garden suggests the presence of a volcano. But above, a smaller song a vision dizzying waits the eyes beyond, including the crater and. Of Penelokan, the main way straight works round the edge towards Kintamani, the panorama that it changes of position like surrounding around the crater. The escarped size of the crater swears in upon images of the massive eruption of the original Mount Batur that happened the ten of thousands years ago. The volcano continues being today active then Balinese still remembers the great eruption of 1917. It demanded thousands of lives and it destroyed hundreds of temples. Other eruptions have happened from forcing the local population to be returned to put, along with several of their temples, including the main temple of Bali, Pure Ulun Danu. Initially within the enormous crater, this temple has become to put to the cover of the song that ignored it. Here now it offers an impressive Vista of the Mount Batur. Located less than one hour of Bangli of the north. Danau Batur is the lake greatest Bali and cribbed with the boilers of an active volcano named Gunung Batur.
In 1992 a survey of Lake Batur was conducted by scientists from Wesleyan University (Middletown, CT USA). The chemistry of the vertical structure of Lake Batur demonstrates that the lake is dilute and well-mixed. From 0-65m depth the temperature (23 deg C), pH (8.5), and TDS (1.25 ppt) are virtually identical for all samples collected. In the bottom ten meters the pH drops to 7. No trend with depth is apparent for any constituent, and element concentrations are consistently low except for sodium--> Cl=237 ppm, SO4=491ppm, F=0.86 ppm, B=1.49 ppm, Li=0.4 ppm, Ca=35 ppm, Mg=68 ppm, K=31 ppm, Na=355 ppm, Si=15 ppm, Sr=0.1 ppm.
The chemistry of one of the hot springs (57 deg C) draining into Lake Batur was sampled and assessed as well. The spring is somewhat enriched in calcium, magnesium, boron, and silica with respect to the lake, but is depleted in sodium and sulfate. Lithium, potassium, and strontium are present in the two waters in identical concentrations.
From 1989-1992 Batur Lake significantly net decreased in temperature from 27.4 deg C to 23 deg C. Sulfate concentration and chloride concentration decreased by 17.8% and 8.3%, respectively. Among the detectable cations, no significant changes occurred during that same interval. No pre-1989 data for Batur Lake is available.
